Some players see every mesh at the detail level meant for distant objects, even when they stand on it. Repotted described that on the Roblox Developer Forum on August 28, 2026, using this experience as the example. Grass and the soccer field lines were part of what broke. The people affected stayed broken across rejoins. People who were not affected never saw it. It showed up on PC and mobile, including high-end devices with stable connections. Console was uncertain. Repotted had not reproduced it personally.
The post says the difference was Workspace.MeshStreamingAndImprovedLods set to Enabled versus Disabled. That property is a developer setting. It is not a slider in the gear menu, and a player cannot flip it from inside a match.
What a Roblox engineer said next
On September 4, 2026, a Roblox staff reply on the same thread said the issue was related to an impinging feature, that the feature was rolled back that day, and that the rollback would hopefully finish within a few hours. The reply says that should stop players seeing low-quality meshes everywhere on experiences where mesh streaming was enabled. It does not include a before-and-after test inside Illegal Soccer, so a later client is the check that matters.
What you can do
Compare with a teammate on the same pitch. If their field lines are clean and yours stay broken at your feet, you match the reported symptom. Rejoining did not fix it for the reported subset, so another server is a weak test.
Performance Mode in the gear menu only trims visual load. It is a separate toggle from the mesh-streaming property. Lowering graphics can make a weak phone playable, but it is not the fix described in the bug report.
Do not install a graphics unlocker, config pack, or executor to force high detail. Those are not the setting in the report, and they put the account at risk. If the pitch is unreadable after the September 4 rollback window, the useful report is your device, whether it happens in every server, and a screenshot of the field lines up close. Send that through Repotted's own channels.
Official art for the game shows a lined pitch, a goal frame, and readable players. If your client cannot show the lines that art depends on, defending the goal and judging distance both get worse. Pause ranked-style play until the picture matches what your teammates see.
